A SHORT LOVE STORY
So, Jason and I met way back in 2001. It was in 10th grade Spanish class, and the first thing he ever said to me was, “What’s wrong with your hair?!” He clearly didn’t like my lazy top bun. LOL! We spent a lot of our high school years being more pen pals with the occasional greeting in the hall and we even went to our senior prom together as friends.
Even though we were never high school sweethearts, we have to admit there was always an attraction. Sadly after high school, we both went our separate ways and lost contact with each other. But good ol fate reunited us again in the mall. (He was about to hit on another girl and so I had to quickly get his attention. Hehe!)
We dated for a little over a year before getting married on September 22, 2007. We then had our daughter, Adrina, on December 6, 2007. Talk about a busy and exciting year!
Years later the military brought us to Tacoma, Washington, where we found the perfect place to settle down and buy our first home. Shortly after that, we upgraded our little family of 3 to our perfect family of 4 and introduced our son, Jackson, to the world on January 3, 2017.
Our family has experienced many great years. We have had the opportunity to live in many different corners of the world–currently living in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. We’ve met a ton of great people and feel confident that we have built a solid foundation for our family.
But much like every family, we experience our every day ups and downs. Our foundation gets tested, but we get through it all by holding true to our values:
Be respectful, never judgmental, and have a generous heart.
Be proud of who you are, but know how to embrace change.
Stand firm to what you believe in, but always keep an open-mind.
Continuously learn and grow both spiritually and intellectually.
Understand that it takes hard work to achieve success; success is not entitled.
Be proud of your achievements.
Take responsibility for one’s self; your failures are your own.
Love harder than you hate.
